CHALLENGE

Increase awareness in Japan of Hawaii’s new luxury resort, The Ritz-Carlton Residences, Waikiki Beach, through Facebook.

SOLUTION

The Ritz-Carlton had opened up their new location in Waikiki, Hawaii. With so many of Hawaii’s tourists coming from Japan, they asked us to help them build a Japanese fanbase on Facebook, and showcase their new resort.

The Ritz-Carlton Residences, Waikiki Beach pool was one focal point for social content to Japanese tourists

The Ritz-Carlton is synonymous with luxurious hospitality, so we implemented a strategy that helped them identify and natively communicate with their Japanese target audiences through Facebook in a way that elevated their brand.

We built out their Japanese Facebook Page with original and localized content, speaking natively to their various audiences, and worked closely with their staff to assist in handling online inquiries and requests from visitors through Messenger.

Through their Japanese Facebook Page, we enabled The Ritz-Carlton experience to begin before guests arrived and carry on long after they’ve returned home.

RESULTS

We grew The Ritz-Carlton, Waikiki Beach’s Japanese account to over 7,100 fans in the first six months that we took it over, extending their reach by almost 500% on Facebook.

While doing this, we kept the community engaged with an above industry standard of almost 7% interacting with each post.
